Thank you to my Forefathers, Bill, Bob, Chicago Mike, Linda A, The Old Time BB group & Logan in Davenport, Ia, The Marc Unit, Deniese, Hillbilly, The Powel Unit in Des Moines, Iowa, Casa Grande, AZ and Elana & Bill, The Sunday morning group in Sierra Vista, AZ. And a special thanks to Wes and Vicki Holmes for their example in recovery and marriage as well as Linda and Roger, Davenport,Ia. To the Joe and Charlie meeting on Thur nights in Sierra Vista, Az and the Old men who did not 13th step me, loved me and did not let me talk much. To my last treatment center in Chandler, AZ Chandler Valley Hope, Roger, My Counselor who loved on me, Pat L and Mickey who visited us every Thurs and Pat who called me faithfully for a year after treament and after an 8 month relapse. My Mother was right. God and AA were chasing me as I chased my tail for the booze and what went with it. I am grateful. Now it is time for a new war. Quitting smoking. I was taught I could apply anything to my program. No more talk, I am good at that!:

Joe and Charlie saved me the first several years of my sobriety. Faithfully, went to a an Old Man's Joe and Charlie group for 3 years. Two of those men are now deceased. Wes Holmes who has been like a Father to me in AA has batteled extreme health issues this past year as well as me. Still with us, did not drink, Wes's wife, Vickie and him pray for me as well as countless others. Alone, mind spinning, would not call easily, still work on that. Pride and phone did weigh 500 lbs. I would pop Joe and Charlie in and it would never fail me. Almost, 5 years and I have not drank and still relize how much I have to grow. It is the little things that catch up to you in sobriety and then they become big in your mind. Why? You are aware. I just woke up 20 min ago and had a revelation of how I still tell little lies and blow myself up. Humbleling, for sure. The work is never done. I know this. I have more ammends to make. This last year, I went into survival mode. The little manipulations started to the point, I believed them, just like I believed the lies to my drinking and the people I was harming. I am grateful I found my way back to AA. I have had a 2nd, 3rd and so on chance to live again. I believe in true sobriety right or wrong that God does want us to be free, somewhat reasonably happy, joyous and free. I am still striving to get to that point but I believe I will. No ya butts, just believe. I may no I am sure I will have to apply these tapes to my smoking as well. I start the patch today. I remember in the early 80's going to an AA meeting in Chicago called the mustard seed. I miss my midwest AA but it is true what my sponsor in Iowa said. I can take God with me wherever I go. The best speaker I ever heard and I had her tape...lent it to a friend and my friend lost it. I am devestated! Cannot find this woman anywhere! Her name is Rhonda...and she had lupus...was married to a football player, she always tells the tea cup story at the end of her pitch. Anyone please!!! know where I can buy it?
